HaloSiblings, page 1. Halo Handles: Siblings

Siblings are a special kind of copy made by holding down the shift key as the green copy handle is clicked.

Paint an object and keep it. Open its Viewer and make a script using the turn by tile. Start the script and pause it.
HaloSiblings, page 2. Make a copy of your painting with its halo's green handle. Open Viewers for the painting and its copy.

The scripts are the same. Change the turn by value in one script. The value does not change in the copy's script.
HaloSiblings, page 3. Now make a sibling copy: hold down the shift key and as you copy.

Open Viewers for the painting and its sibling copy. Notice there is just one Scriptor for the painting and its sibling copy.

Change the turn by value in one script. The sibling copy's action changes too.

Siblings are ruled by one script. A change in one script will apply to all its siblings.
HaloSiblings, page 4. To make many sibling copies easily, click the white menu in the painting's halo and select: siblings. The menu has options to make one sibling copy or as many as your project needs. Try it.

Squeak Etoys is a "media authoring tool"-- software that you can download to your computer
and then use to create your own media. You can write out your project and share it with others.
Etoys runs on any Mac or Windows machine, as well as on the OLPC XO machine.
It is free.    Find out about Etoys.
